During the afternoon, I was having a meeting at Lalaport BBCC. Upon arrival, I noticed there was a pickleball event happening at the ground floor, which is one of the trending sports in Malaysia recently.
After finishing my meeting, I decided to have lunch at Yakiniku Botan+ Express, located at LG1-09A, near the lower ground area. The big signboard caught my eye with their Weekday Value Lunch starting from RM16 onwards, so I decided to give it a try.
The restaurant interior looked clean and cozy with a Japanese-style setting. It felt comfortable even for solo diners, and I noticed each table comes with a mini grill setup for their yakiniku menu.
For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Teppan Set (RM16) under their weekday value lunch promotion. The set came with a bowl of miso soup, a small salad, and side dishes. The service was quick and the food arrived within 10 minutes.
The chicken teppan was nicely grilled and topped with a soft half-boiled egg. The sauce was savory and went well with the rice. The overall portion was just right for one person, and the presentation looked neat and appetizing.
After finishing the meal, I was served a surprise gift of a small scoop of black sesame ice cream. It had a rich nutty flavor and made a nice ending to the meal.
The total bill was RM18.55 after service charge and tax, which I think is quite reasonable considering it’s located in the heart of the city mall and comes with side dishes.

Their weekday value lunch offers a variety of choices such as Wagyu Beef Don (RM38), Beef Katsu (RM32), Wagyu Curry (RM24), and Seafood Teppan (RM38). Each set includes soup, salad, and side dishes, making it a good deal for the price and location.
