During the evening, I headed over to Kyanpu at Rain Tree Rain, The Era Dutamas to redeem a birthday promo that sounded almost too good to be true. Free pork belly cake just for your birthday.
After being seated, I showed my birthday details and the staff immediately confirmed the promo. Not long after that, the complimentary pork belly arrived and it was presented like a mini birthday cake, complete with a ribbon and candle. Very Instagram-worthy and definitely not just a small token portion.
Free Pork Belly That Actually Feels Worth It
The free pork belly was thickly sliced with a good balance of meat and fat. Once placed on the grill, the fat slowly rendered, creating that crispy edge while keeping the meat juicy inside. No heavy seasoning was needed. It tasted great on its own or wrapped with lettuce and sides.
This is the kind of birthday freebie that feels generous and not rushed. You can take your time grilling it properly and enjoying the experience.
Buffet BBQ Experience
I went for the Classic Buffet, which includes unlimited refills of pork belly, pork collar, pork neck, chicken wings, rice, soup, and side dishes. Ordering refills was simple and the staff were responsive throughout the meal.
The marinated meats had good flavour without being overly sweet. The plain cuts worked well with the dipping sauces provided. There was also pork lard rice available, which paired nicely with the grilled meat.
On top of the buffet birthday promo, I was pleasantly surprised that the grilled chicken wing is also given for free, nicely charred and super juicy.

Ice Cream to End the Meal
After all the grilling, there was a freezer filled with ice cream near the end. Multiple flavours were available and it was self service. A nice, cooling way to end a smoky BBQ dinner.
