It’s midnight again, and the clock ticks past 2AM. I was feeling hungry but didn’t feel like driving far, say to Kepong for the famous 3AM chicken rice. So, I started searching around and suddenly craved McDonald’s after seeing their Facebook ads pop up on my phone. It also reminded me of my role in digital performance marketing—of course, I’d support any advertiser running Facebook ads!
Anyway, I ended up ordering a Happy Meal with a chicken burger, adding one piece of chicken. I also used the Mix and Match promo to get a piece of McD Spicy Chicken paired with small fries.
To my surprise, my “overseas Mastercard” was accepted, which made me quite happy.
I drove to the McDonald’s drive-thru at Pearl Point Shopping Mall. While waiting, I noticed a GrabFood driver ahead of me, and it made me think about how tough life in KL can be—someone out there was still working in the middle of the night.
When it was my turn, I managed to get a bonus: a free small Coca-Cola thanks to the McD drive-thru sticker offer. Spending a minimum of RM20 made me eligible for a freebie—what a nice little perk!
I asked the staff if I could dine in, and she said yes since this McDonald’s operates 24 hours. Somehow, the “Happy Birthday” Meal decorations on the wall brought back childhood memories.
Eating McDonald’s at such an hour felt perfectly fine—I considered it my “lunch,” even though it was already past 2AM.
Overall, the meal was satisfying and worth it. For RM22, I got plenty of food and a bonus drink, leaving me feeling full and content.
I’d definitely come back—it’s only a 6-minute drive, and I truly enjoy driving at midnight in the Old Klang Road area with no traffic at all.
