During the morning, I came across an advert for Baker’s Cottage roasted whole chicken priced at only RM16.99. They offered two flavor options: barbecue and black pepper.
It had been a while since I last visited Baker’s Cottage, so I decided to give it a try. After all, it’s the cheapest cooked whole chicken around, considering an uncooked one already costs RM15 at the OUG morning market. When I checked Waze, I found that the nearest Baker’s Cottage was just 750 meters away, about a 7-minute drive from my location.
Upon arrival, I ordered the barbecue-flavored whole roasted chicken and decided to dine in since the place was empty.
The staff were quite helpful, offering me a plastic glove to eat without making my hands dirty.
The taste of the barbecue chicken was enjoyable, especially when dipped in the onion chili sauce. Although it didn’t quite measure up to Nando’s in flavor, the value was undeniable—for the price of a whole chicken here, you’d only get a quarter portion at Nando’s. I ended up packing the remaining chicken to enjoy at home later after storing it in the refrigerator.
In addition to roasted chicken, Baker’s Cottage also sells pastries, bread, sandwiches, cakes, and more.
My total bill came to RM18.50 because I added a bottle of water to my order.
Interestingly, a quick Google search revealed that Baker’s Cottage’s whole chicken started at just RM11.90 after promotions four years ago.
Nevertheless, with the rising cost of living in KL, this deal is still worth it—it works out to only RM8.50 per meal if you save half the chicken for later.
This promotion ends on 31st January 2025, so don’t miss out!
