During the afternoon, I decided to have lunch at the newly opened Lou Ban Cha Don (老板茶档) restaurant in the Old Klang Road area. It was my first visit, and I was drawn in by their RM1 soft-boiled egg promotion.
Considering the average price for two soft-boiled eggs is usually around RM3+ (based on my previous experience at Joo Hing), this deal caught my attention. Another highlight was their dual-flavor pork noodle option for RM15, where you can choose two different flavors from the selection shown below.
For my meal, I opted for the original flavor and the Thai sour and spicy flavor. When the food arrived, the soft-boiled egg was perfectly prepared.
As for the pork noodle soup, the original flavor was decent but nothing extraordinary, while the Thai sour and spicy flavor was a bit too spicy for my taste.
The total bill came to RM18.50, but unfortunately, they couldn’t provide a receipt for the pork noodle even after I requested one.
Overall, my experience was just okay, but I would definitely return to try other hawker stalls inside. If the RM1 soft-boiled egg promotion is still available, I’ll make sure to order it again in the future.
