Mud Stove BBQ @ Ant Cave Pavilion Bukit Jalil

During the night, I met up with my friends at Pavilion Bukit Jalil for dinner at Ant Cave restaurant. This place is special because it’s Malaysia’s first authentic mud stove BBQ, where the heat spreads evenly to make the meat juicier and more flavorful!

The drive from Old Klang Road took me about 20 minutes. I was lucky because my friend had already waited nearly an hour in line, so I could join them right away when I arrived. We ordered several dishes: Mala chicken thigh, pork belly, marbled pork, pork shoulder with special sauce, and different kinds of pancakes. All the food was served within 20 minutes, along with some Korean-style side dishes.

Among all the pork options, I loved the pork belly in coconut the most. It was definitely the best one! The seafood scallion pancake was also very tasty.

I ordered the coconut drink, which was really nice with the Ant Cave logo engraved on its shell.

Our total bill came to RM431.55, which worked out to about RM86 per person when we split it.

Everything was really good, though I have to say the prices were on the higher side. I’d love to go back if they ever have promotions, but currently there aren’t any discounts available. Moreover, it’s a great spot for midnight supper if you dine in from Friday to Sunday, as it stays open until 12 AM. The only special offer I found was that you can get a free pork slice cake during your birthday month if you spend at least RM100, as shown below.
