During the evening, I decided to celebrate my birthday at Mitasu Sri Petaling, and honestly this turned out to be a pretty memorable birthday meal for me.

Environment & Ambience
The Sri Petaling outlet has a very Japanese-style setup. When you walk in, it feels like you’re entering a small Japanese street with lanterns, wooden panels, and warm lighting. The place feels spacious, comfortable, and quite nice for birthday celebrations or family dinners.
It’s not the noisy type of buffet. The vibe is more calm and cozy, so you can actually enjoy your food properly.
Food Experience
Food-wise, this was quite a feast.
There’s a good variety of sashimi, sushi, hot dishes, grilled items, and desserts. The sashimi platter came looking fresh and nicely presented, especially the salmon, tuna, and prawns. Portions were generous, and refills were smooth.
One highlight for me was that this was my first time trying caviar.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but it was interesting. Salty, pop-in-the-mouth kind of texture. Not something I eat daily, but definitely a fun birthday experience to try at least once.
Hot dishes like grilled fish and fried items were decent too, and desserts helped finish the meal nicely.

Paying RM82.95 for a Japanese buffet with sashimi and even caviar feels quite worth it, especially as a birthday treat.
After settling the bill, the staff gave me some coins to play the toy slot machine inside.
Thought it was a fun little extra, although unfortunately, I didn’t win anything 😂
Still, it added a bit of playful birthday mood to end the night.
Overall Thoughts
For a birthday buffet, 50% OFF on your actual birthday is really worth it, especially if you enjoy Japanese food and sashimi. The environment is nice, food quality is decent, and the whole experience felt like a proper birthday treat rather than just a cheap promo.
