During the night, I kept exploring Grab’s Dineout deals near my location. I noticed Epic Food Hall Petaling Jaya was listed as a 24-hour spot, which would’ve been perfect for a late-night supper in KL. It took me about 15 minutes to drive there, but when I arrived, the signboard wasn’t very noticeable. To make things worse, I realized dine-in wasn’t an option. It was delivery-only or pickup option. I asked one of the staff if I could place a manual order and pay through the app using the “Pay Bill” function, but they said it wasn’t possible. At that point, I felt the Grab promo was misleading. If the EPIC PJ outlet wasn’t actually available as advertised, why list it?

This reminded me of my past Grab Promo experience at FWF Hotpot (凤王府) in Pearl Point Shopping Mall, where Grab’s Dineout deal wasn’t honored at certain outlets, yet they still appeared in the app. Frustrating, but not the first time. Since dine-in wasn’t an option, I ended up placing a pickup order through the Grab app instead. I got the Epic Value Combo 1, which came with a Crispy Chicky Burger and homemade iced lemon tea.

The waiting time was around 12 minutes, based on the order prep screen.

I ate in my car, thinking like “Hungry Sam reviews in the car whether the food really good or not?”

Well, the chicken burger was just okay, kinda similar to the RM9.99 Wallace Burger. The iced lemon tea was decent but a bit small for my liking.
The final bill came to RM10.48. But if the Dineout “Pay Bill” function had worked, combining the 20% total bill discount with the 30% festive promo, it would’ve only been around RM6.52.
