During the night, I met up with my cousin, and we decided to have Bak Kut Teh for supper. We decided on Kin Kong Restaurant in Taman Eng Ann, a place I hadn’t visited in a while. Back in the day, their old shop nearby was famous for operating until 5AM. I’m not sure when they moved to this new location, but it’s nostalgic to see they’ve kept the same name.
When we arrived, we ordered “Sui Kut” (pork ribs) for our wet Bak Kut Teh and added “Daoki” (tofu puffs) and needle mushrooms, served with “You Cha Kueh” (fried dough sticks). For the dry Bak Kut Teh, we chose the “Sao Rou” (roasted pork belly) meat part. The food was served promptly within 15 minutes.
Personally, I preferred the wet Bak Kut Teh over the dry version, even though both were good.
The dry Bak Kut Teh had a richer flavor, enhanced by the addition of dried squid slices. Overall, I’d rate this Klang’s Bak Kut Teh spot an 8.5 out of 10, especially since it’s one of the few places I know that stays open late. However, their new closing time is now 1:30AM instead of 5AM like before.
The final bill came to RM59.80, and I’m grateful to my cousin for treating me.
