Kumo Kumo Cheese @ Sunway Pyramid

During the afternoon, I went to Sunway Pyramid to shopping after finish my personal stuff at JTK. Upon arrival, I noticed the bright orange Kumo Kumo Cheese shop at the lower ground floor. The colour is extremely striking and the whole outlet stands out from far. There was already a long queue, so I decided to join and try it out.

They also sell Chocolate Cheesecake, Dubai Pistachio Cheesecake, cheese cups and cheese soft serve. The menu boards above the counter are clear and easy to read.

The full orange theme also reminded me of my recent visit to Verrona Hills at Sunway Velocity, which also had a strong colour identity. At Kumo Kumo, their orange branding covers everything from the walls to the uniforms, packaging and even the signage. The shop uses an open kitchen concept, so customers can watch the whole baking process. Trays of cheesecakes come out from the oven, go through cooling and then get stamped with the Kumo Kumo logo. Everything looks very clean and professional.

Because of the long queue, the staff gave each customer a card. One person can only buy one cake. This is to make sure everyone in the line gets a chance.

I waited around 30 minutes before it was finally my turn to buy.

I picked the Classic Original Japanese Cheesecake for RM26.90. The texture is soft, fluffy and slightly jiggly. The taste is light with a gentle sweetness that melts in the mouth. I also noticed that their cake has a raisin at the bottom, which gives a small burst of sweetness that makes the overall flavour stand out. It is a small detail, but it adds a nice touch compared to other cheesecakes I tried before.

On the receipt, it explains that each cheesecake goes through a 70 minute process from mixing to baking to cooling, which shows they really focus on quality.

Overall, Kumo Kumo Cheese at Sunway Pyramid is a nice stop if you enjoy Japanese style cheesecakes. The shop is bright, the branding is strong, the baked cakes are fresh and warm, and the whole experience feels fun because you can watch the staff make everything on the spot.
