During the evening, I decided to finally redeem the KFC birthday reward that I always see inside the KFC app but never really talk about properly.
For KFC Malaysia, the birthday promo is actually quite decent. You get 1 FREE Snack Plate Combo during your birthday month. This can be redeemed anytime within the month via the KFC app. No promo code needed, it will automatically appear under Offers & Rewards once your birthday is registered.
The Snack Plate Combo comes with 2 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potato, coleslaw, a bun, and a drink. Based on the app and my receipt, the Snack Plate Combo itself is fully free at RM0.00. However, do note that this reward is delivery only, not for dine in or takeaway at counter.
In my case, I added another item to meet the minimum order requirement. I ordered a 1 pc rice combo priced at RM16.99.
There is also a delivery and processing fee of RM5, plus SST and rounding. After everything, my final amount paid was RM22.00, but the birthday Snack Plate Combo itself was completely free.
Food wise, this is standard KFC taste. The fried chicken was crispy and filling, especially considering it is a free birthday meal. Just keep in mind that since it is delivery, the chicken may not be as hot as dine in, depending on distance and timing.
Overall, I think this is a solid birthday promo from KFC. It is not totally zero spend because of delivery fees and minimum order, but getting a full Snack Plate Combo for free during your birthday month is still worth redeeming, especially if you already plan to order KFC anyway.
