After claiming the RM2.99 Luckin Coffee promo, I browsed through the Sunway Super App and discovered a Korean restaurant, Han Bun Sik, that supposedly accepts Sunway Pay, as shown below.
When I arrived, I checked out the menu and decided to have Jin Ramyun Mild Korean noodles for lunch.
After waiting for a while—about 20 minutes—I started wondering why my food hadn’t been served yet. That’s when I realized you’re supposed to pay immediately after placing your order.
Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed to find that they don’t actually accept Sunway Pay. There was no QR code to scan; you can only earn Sunway Points after paying. So, I ended up using Touch ‘n Go as my payment method.
That said, the noodles were nice. While they’re the same ones I could easily cook at home, the added ingredients like mushrooms and the complimentary small bowl of kimchi made a difference.
The final bill came to RM12.70 after tax.
This post is just a quick sharing of my experience exploring merchants that claim to accept Sunway Pay. I’m not entirely sure why it wasn’t available here—perhaps there’s an extra charge for merchants to use it, similar to FavePay. For instance, Hana Dining + Sake Bar also had to go to the back of their kitchen to scan the Sunway Pay QR code.
