During the night, my sister asked if I wanted to have dinner with our parents since she was in Kuala Lumpur. I agreed, and she chose a vegetarian restaurant at Roots Bangsar. The drive from Old Klang Road took about 15 minutes.
When we arrived, the place was full, so we waited 15 minutes for a table. The restaurant had a cozy, classy vibe.
As a welcome snack, they served us a sourdough bread basket.
My sister did most of the ordering, while I went for the Trio Plant-Based Meat with rice.
I’m not big on vegetarian food, but my dish was alright. The “dark vegetarian char-siu” was a tad too salty for me.
I also tried bites from my family’s orders: the Laksa Angel Hair was nice (though a bit spicy), and the wild mushroom soup was really tasty.
There were also some other dishes that were quite okay.
Before leaving, we got free coconut jelly for leaving two Google reviews.
The total bill was RM207.65 (the receipt might have had a system error).
But with the Grab Dineout deal, we only paid RM156.12.
The staff seemed a little confused about the final amount since they were still getting used to the +30% off Weekend deals dine in voucher.
Overall, it was a good deal with Grab’s 20% off plus 30% Weekend Discount. They also work with other apps like Cari Makan and Advocado, but since you can only use one promo at a time, Grab is my go-to, then Advocado, then Cari Makan.
