During the midnight, I felt hungry and started browsing the Grab app, exploring the Dine Out category. I sorted by “Nearby Deals” with the “Open Now” filter and discovered Chen Jia Canteen 晨嘉食堂 in Bukit Jalil, which stays open until 3:30 a.m. After checking Waze, I found it was just a 10-minute drive away.
I enjoy driving at midnight—there’s no traffic, and I can park at the valet spots since it’s off-peak hours.
When I arrived at Chen Jia Canteen Bukit Jalil, I seemed to be the only customer there.
From the menu, I decided to try their signature curry noodles, though I was tempted by the Nasi Lemak.
However, I’d already had rice earlier in the evening. The food arrived after a 10-minute wait. At first, I thought they had served the wrong dish because the soup was white.
Then I realized I needed to stir in the chili paste to turn it into proper curry noodles.
The taste was just okay for me—it had an old-school canteen vibe, like when the noodles are pre-cooked, and the canteen aunty simply pours hot soup into the bowl. I’d rate it a 7 out of 10.
The original bill was RM15.80, but after a 15% Grab Dine Out deal, I only paid RM13.43 after discount.
