During the night, I continued to make use of Grab’s 30% off CNY promo and discovered that Dong Fang Xiang Bak Kut Teh at Jalan Imbi was one of the participating merchants, as shown below.
It took me an 18-minute drive from my location, and I was lucky to find free parking right in front of the restaurant. After getting seated, I ordered their basic Bak Kut Teh soup from the menu but didn’t try their charcoal-braised version.
The dish was served after about 15 minutes, and I had to order an additional bowl of rice to go with it. The taste of the Bak Kut Teh was a bit light, and I forgot to request them to exclude the intestines.
The actual bill came to RM26.95 after tax.
However, with Grab’s 15% Dine Out + 30% CNY Deals discount, I only had to pay RM16.04.
Overall, the experience was just okay. I’ll make sure to specify my preferences next time to avoid getting internal parts if I don’t want them.
