Da Xia Charcoal Hotpot @ Old Klang Road

During the night, around 11pm, I came across a 50% off deal for Da Xia Charcoal Hotpot on Eatigo. Since it was a late-night promo, I decided to give it a try. The place is located along Old Klang Road and quite easy to find with its bright, eye-catching red signboard glowing under the night lights.

The setup is open-air with fairy lights hanging across the top, giving off a chill supper vibe. The tables are spaced out nicely, feels like one of those chill spots perfect for late-night makan with friends. Got a pickleball court beside too, with people still playing at that hour.

After browsing through the menu, I went for their Lamb Belly Claypot since it’s one of the signature dishes.

I ordered a bowl of white rice and a glass of warm water to go along with it. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive, and when it did, it came bubbling hot in a claypot placed over a small charcoal flame.

The aroma was strong and rich. The lamb belly was tender and flavorful, soaked in a thick herbal-style soup that paired really well with rice. They also added fried beancurd sheets on top which absorbed the soup nicely and added a little crunch.

Taste-wise, it was quite satisfying for a cold night. The portion was quite big even though I ordered the small size, which I think can actually suit two people. The soup stayed hot throughout the meal thanks to the charcoal base, which is always a plus. I even added another bowl of rice to go with it.

The actual bill was RM60.50, but with the Eatigo 50% off deal, the total came to only RM34.10. The promo was only applicable for the claypot dish, as rice and drinks were not included

Besides, the staff was kind enough to let me pack the leftovers since I couldn’t finish everything.

Later at midnight, I cooked some white rice and reheated the leftover claypot, adding a few extra scallops.

It turned out perfect for a second round of supper, especially since not many food places were open after midnight.
