CNY Celebration @ Hao Xiang Chi Meru Klang

During the afternoon, I attended a Chinese New Year reunion gathering with my ex-secondary school classmates. We’ve been having this yearly reunion dinner for over 10+ years, and it’s always a special occasion to reconnect. This year, we met at the Hao Xiang Chi (好想吃) Seafood Restaurant, Meru Klang branch. Upon arrival, I was impressed by the grand ballroom, which looked spacious and beautifully decorated.

My friend had arranged this reunion dinner set, and we started with abalone slices and salmon “Yee Sang” with assorted fruits.

The meal continued with the following dishes:
1) Braised shark’s fin soup with abalone slices and crab meat.

2) Steamed tiger grouper with squid balls, luffa gourd, and date slices.

3) Charcoal-grilled Iberico pork ribs.

4) Baked tiger prawns with miso and garlic paste.

5) Braised abalone with dried oysters, fish maw, and vegetables.

6) Prosperity glutinous rice with waxed meats.

7) Double happiness pastries.

8) Double-boiled sea coconut with peach and snow nest.

Out of all the dishes, my favorite was the steamed tiger grouper fish.

As for the final bill, I’m not exactly sure since I wasn’t the one paying upfront, but we each chipped in around RM200 on average. I noticed it might have been the Set B 平步青云事事顺 CNY dishes as shown on the screen.

Overall, it was a great experience enjoying a festive Chinese New Year meal, and I wish everyone a prosperous year ahead! As for me, I’m hoping for a stable income since this is my first time running my own business instead of working for a marketing agency.
