During the night, we had the chance to attend the Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner at Checkers Café, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, with the Under the Twinkling Lights theme. When we arrived at the lobby, there was a Christmas caroling performance by a group of kids, which created a warm and festive atmosphere.
We also saw a meaningful moment where Dorsett Kuala Lumpur presented a RM2,000 cheque to the Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association Kuala Lumpur and Selangor as part of their festive charity effort.
The moment you walk in, you’ll see gingerbread houses, chocolate Santas, Christmas cookies, fruit carvings, and a tall chocolate fountain.
The roasted turkey was served with cranberry orange sauce and it turned out to be one of the stars of the buffet.
There were also plenty of hot dishes like Sri Lankan-style chilli crab, wok-fried squid, hasselback potatoes, chicken, beef and a few pasta options.
Some of the special dishes highlighted for this Christmas Eve buffet include the Gourmet Crustacean Station with prawns, mussels, clams, flower crab and crayfish. There was also a prawn and crab bisque, a live Cioppino seafood pasta station and the baked oyster prepared fresh on the spot.
The roasted lamb leg was marinated and slow baked, while the lemon spatchcock chicken and baked salmon were part of the festive spread too. The apple garlic beef stew added a warm and comforting touch to the selection.
The dessert area was one of the most colourful spots with festive cakes, Christmas cookies and chocolate figures. Very IG-friendly and a nice way to end the meal.
At last, I am having this for myself with a mix of seafood, turkey, baked oyster, salmon and a small portion of rice. Simple but satisfying.
For dessert, we tried the cakes, cupcakes and fresh fruits. The Christmas-themed cupcakes were cute and colourful, and the fruit platter was a refreshing finish after the heavy plates.
The buffet is priced at RM188 nett per adult and RM148 nett for children or seniors. Early bird prices are RM168 and RM128 if booked before 10 December.
