During the afternoon, I went to explore some birthday promo deals and found out that Chicken & Beer (PaperKite) is offering a free meal during your birthday month with no minimum spend. All you need to do is register an account when you arrive and show your Identification Card (IC) for verification.
There are two branches where you can redeem the birthday promo:
• Chicken & Beer Damansara Uptown
• Chicken & Beer Bangsar
Since I stay at Old Klang Road, the nearest branch for me was Bangsar and it took around 15 minutes to reach.
The restaurant is easy to spot because of the bright orange exterior and the mini bus on top of the building.
The interior of Chicken & Beer has a bright and playful vibe with its bold red and orange colour theme. The walls are covered with textured panels and lined with large speakers, giving the space a fun, retro feel. There is a big projector screen playing videos, and the bar area stands out with its eye-catching yellow counter and colourful beer taps. The overall atmosphere feels lively and modern, perfect for casual dining or hanging out with friends.
After being seated, I asked the waiter how to redeem the birthday promo and he showed me the QR code to scan and register.

For the free birthday meal, you can choose their signature Mr Chee Chicken Platter with 5 pieces of chicken or pick from the roast menu.
I chose the Mr Chee Roasted Platter, priced at RM51.90, because I prefer roasted chicken instead of fried chicken. I also ordered a Coke as my drink since the free meal does not include drinks, although you can choose not to order any drink.
The waiting time was about 25 minutes. The staff then came over to sing a Happy Birthday song and presented the fire chicken performance, which you can see from the video.
The fried chicken strips, squid calamari and roasted chicken tasted quite good. The portion was very filling and I was completely full after finishing everything on my own. The actual bill would have been more than RM60 after tax but I only needed to pay for my drink, which was RM9.30.
Overall, it was a fun and worthwhile experience, even if you are celebrating your birthday month alone.
