It took me about 20 minutes drive from Old Klang Road. Upon arrival, you can easily spot the restaurant from the outside because it is located on the 2nd floor with a clear AO Omakase signboard facing the main road.
The interior is filled with soft lighting, warm tones and a modern Japanese minimalist style that makes the whole space feel premium. The centre island is where the chef prepares your food and you get a clear view of the entire process. The lighting is focused and relaxing which makes the dining experience feel very exclusive.
They offer a good mix of donburi, sashimi and Japanese snacks. If you order from the Ala Carte menu, you can top up only RM20 to upgrade your meal into a set. The upgrade includes chawanmushi, miso soup and a simple dessert which makes it worth.
I ordered the Salmon Oyako Don and the Baby Hotate Mentai Don Set. It took them around 15 minutes to prepare and serve my food. The Salmon Oyako Don was fresh and clean tasting while the Baby Hotate Mentai Don Set was rich and satisfying.
After I finished both, the restaurant suddenly played the birthday song and surprised me with a cute birthday plate as shown below.
The texture of the birthday dessert was awesome because it tasted like a soft mochi with a chewy centre and a light sweetness that ended the meal nicely.
Overall
AO Omakase TTDI is a great option if you want a comfortable ambience, quality Japanese food and a birthday promo that is genuinely worth it. The service was pleasant, the food came fast and the surprise birthday dessert made the experience even nicer.
For reference, my actual bill should have been RM132.25, but after using the RM100 birthday voucher, I only paid RM32.25. For this kind of environment and food quality, it is definitely a good birthday deal.
