It was late at night, and I had just finished some work as the clock hit 3 AM. Feeling hungry, I remembered a chicken rice shop near Jinjang Utara in Kepong that opens this early. After getting into my car, I checked Waze, and it showed a 16-minute drive. One reason I love driving at night is the lack of traffic jams.
When I arrived, a queue had already formed.
I ordered a plate of chicken thigh and another plate of “Char Siu Siu Yuk” rice. The chicken rice was delicious, but the “Char Siu Siu Yuk” didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
The total bill came to RM20, though no receipt was provided: RM9 for chicken rice, RM11 for “Char Siu Siu Yuk,” and RM1 for a bottle of mineral water.
Since I couldn’t finish everything, I packed the leftovers to enjoy later when hunger struck.

Somehow, I feel like I’m completing my ultimate midnight supper journey—starting with this 3 AM chicken rice, followed by the 4 AM grandma roast duck, and wrapping up with 5 AM Bak Kut Teh in KL. It perfectly fits my KL Supper theme!
